I started my career with York City Council in 1974 in the Traffic Section before moving to Humberside County Council in 1978 working in the Transportation Team before moving to the Traffic Section. Upon the dissolution of Humberside in 1996 I moved to Hull City Council Traffic Section where I remained until taking early retirement in 2007. In February I joined City of York Council on a part time basis carrying out mainly Road Safety Audits and Casualty Reduction Schemes. I joined Local Tranport Projects on a part time basis during 2014 to date and was seconded to North East Lincolnshire Council during some of that period. During 2016 I was awarded the Certificate in Competency in Road Safety Audit.
During my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar and have played in many bands over the year and have toured extensively in this country and also in Europe. I like the occasional bike ride and short walk, although extensive rambling has become increasingly more difficult.
